On September 23, 2007, St. Nicholas Orthodox Church will celebrate 100 years of Orthodoxy in Joliet, IL, with the parish priest, the Very Reverend John Kuchta, being the rector for 51 of those years.
To commemorate this milestone, His Emminence, The Most Reverend JOB, Archbishop of Chicago and Diocese of the Midwest, will be in attendance to celebrate Hierarchical Vespers on Saturday, September 22, 2007 and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on Sunday, September 23, 2007.
A dinner and dance will follow the Divine Liturgy at the The Renaissance Center in downtown Joliet. The Joliet Area Historical Museum, located adjacent to the Renaissance Center, will also be open for visitors to tour during the afternoon.
